Why we are different
Craftsmanship over volume
Most crews are paid to move fast, and preparation is the only place left to find the time. We are built the other way round. Fewer jobs at a time, and the hours go into the surface before a drop of paint goes on it.
A very clear scope of work, so you know what you are getting
Every surface, product and coat written down before you sign. On interior millwork, doors and cabinetry we go further and identify the PCA P14 preparation level, and it is Level 3 or 4 every time.
If it takes paint, we can resurface it
Cabinets, trim, siding, drywall, decks, gutters, garage floors. One company, one point of contact, and a partner we trust for the parts we do not do ourselves.

PCA preparation levels, plainly
The Painting Contractors Association publishes a scale for surface preparation. Most of the preparation on the market lands at Level 1 or Level 2, and where an estimate identifies no level at all, the standard assumes Level 2.
Level 1: BasicWhere most preparation stops
Clean it, knock off the loose paint, get the new coat to stick.
Level 2: StandardAssumed if no level is identified
Level 1 plus unsound coatings dealt with. Longevity first, looks second.
Level 3: Superior
Filling, patching, nail pops, old runs and roller marks sanded out.
Level 4: SupremeOur millwork standard
The top of the scale. Everything short of restoration or resurfacing.
Millwork, cabinets and doors go to Level 3 or 4 here. Walls get quoted at the level the wall can genuinely reach, and that level goes in writing.

We measure, talk through colors and sheens, and hand you a scope of work clear enough that you know exactly what you are getting. Free, and no pressure.
Protect & prep
Floors covered, fixtures pulled and masked, substrates repaired and sanded sound. Millwork read under a raking light three times. The longest part of the job.
Prime, spray, back-roll
The product the scope says, at the spread rate it wants, and cut lines checked in daylight rather than under a work lamp.
Inspected, then walked with you
We check the whole job against the written scope first. Then we walk it with you, so the last step is confirming it rather than hunting for what got missed.

Why we are called that
The name is the whole idea
The name is not decoration. Painting with Purpose was built on the idea that a trade business should put something back into the place it earns its living, so a share of what we take in goes out again through charity and local sponsorship.
It is also the most practical business decision we have made. Doing right by the neighborhood is how a small crew gets known in it, and word of mouth has brought us more work than any ad ever has.
